Blue mussels, now the product of a very successful aquaculture industry, are available year round throughout Canadas Atlantic provinces. The industry is concentrated in Prince Edward Island, but mussel farms are flourishing in New Brunswick, Quebec, Nova Scotia, and especially, Newfoundland. A mussel industry is also developing on Canadas Pacific Coast, off the province of British Columbia.
