ECTF has been operating since 1991, resulting in some excellent collaborations between its member institutions. We have managed significant projects and held a number of knowledge sharing events. Additionally, meaningful relationships have been formed between the member institutions, leading to numerous other activities. Contemporary approaches to working in partnership mean that ECTF is no longer needed as a vehicle for collaboration. The ECTF Management Committee has decided to close ECTF, effective from end of March 2009. The individual organizations will continue to work together in partnership and in joint activities around the theme of tropical forests and beyond including climate change and carbonrelated issues, building on the relationships developed through ECTF.
