The Research Forests in Agricultural Science Directory

Description and links to all of the research forests at the University of British Columbia. The Alex Fraser Research Forest and the Malcolm Knapp Research Forest provide publications, education and demonstrations. The Faculty of Forestry has three Research Forests where students can enhance their classroom learning with field studies. These are working forests, where students and faculty can study in an outdoor setting. Fish and wildlife, silviculture, forest harvesting, forest ecology, forest management, and resource management figure prominently in these field studies. The Alex Fraser Research Forest is located near Williams Lake, providing students with an opportunity to experience forests and forestry work in the interior of the province. Gavin Lake camp on the edge of the Fraser Forest is also a great place for residential field courses.
