The Panhandle Research and Extension Center, located in the heart of western Nebraska in Scottsbluff, houses 19 faculty with appointments in agriculture and family and consumer science through the University of NebraskaLincoln. Most of the faculty hold joint appointments in research and extension. The Cooperative Extension program in a 17county area of the Panhandle and northcentral Nebraska is also administered at the Center.
