Sheep Improvement Ltd is a division of Meat & Wool New Zealand and provides state of the art genetic information to ram breeders. The company, which was set up in June 1998 by the Meat and Wool Boards, operates the SIL genetic database and provides breeding values and other genetic information through registered Service Providers. SIL has access to the services of New Zealands leading geneticists and genetic specialists who are continually working on the genetic parameters to further improve the quality of the New Zealand flock.
